On Saturday evening, the Golden State Warriors hosted the Los Angeles Lakers at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
During the game, Steph Curry made NBA history by moving up on the all-time regular season games played list. He played in his 922nd career game, which moved him ahead of Richard Hamilton and Dick Van Arsdale for sole possession of 232nd place.
Curry also had a stellar performance on the court, scoring 37 points, grabbing seven rebounds, and dishing out six assists. He shot 13/25 from the field and 7/14 from the three-point range.
He also hit a clutch three-pointer with 1:07 left in the fourth quarter to give the Warriors a 109-106 lead. The Warriors held on to win the game 111-108, snapping a four-game losing streak.
Curry has been playing at an MVP level this season, averaging 26.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game while shooting 44.8% from the field and 40.2% from the three-point range. He has led the Warriors to a 20-23 record, which puts them at the 11th seed in the Western Conference.
The Warriors are hoping to make a late push for the playoffs, as they are only two games behind the eighth-seeded Memphis Grizzlies.
As for the Lakers, they suffered their third straight loss and fell to 23-24 on the season.
They are currently the ninth seed in the Western Conference, one game behind the seventh-seeded Denver Nuggets.
The Lakers have been struggling without their star duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, who are both sidelined with injuries. James is expected to miss at least another month with a high ankle sprain, while Davis is out indefinitely with a calf strain.
The Lakers and the Warriors will meet again on Tuesday, March 30, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The game will be televised nationally on TNT at 7:30 p.m. PT / 10:30 p.m. ET.
The Lakers will try to bounce back from their recent slump, while the Warriors will look to build on their momentum and climb up the standings. (***)
